My wife bought the six season set for my Christmas present. Every weekend for the next month I was glued to the recliner in front of the plasma... Six weekends of "24" marathon! What a great gift. Course, since I did nothing else for a month and a half other than watch the tube (no "honey-do's" done...), doubt that she'll do that again. Absolutely fantastic series.

Keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole hour. But, how could so much happen to one person in one hour?

The most thrilling and pulse pounding action/drama ever to b

"WARNING! PLOT SPOILERS, DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT YET WATCHED THE SEASON!

I took my interest in 24 at the start of the sixth season, but once I saw the first 2 episodes, I immediately got hooked. From a website that a friend gave me, I watched Seasons 1 through 5 in 20 days! It started out on average of six, and then with Seasons 4 and 5, I plowed through it because I simply couldn't stop. Now that I look back, I shall say with full confidence, that Season 4 is the greatest season in the entire series of 24.

Season 4 is a day starting at 7:00 AM with a train bombing, and ending with Jack Bauer's "death." The numerous terrorist attacks that occur throughout the day are the handwork of one man with the cunning, intelligence, and resolve for Bauer to match. Arnold Vosloo plays the brilliant terrorist mastermind Habib Marwan who is the engine behind all the attacks that occur on that one day. The train bombing at 7:00 AM, the kidnapping of the Secretary of Defense and his daughter at 8:00 AM, the meltdown of 6 nuclear power plants across the nation, the shooting down of Air Force One, and the nuclear warhead launched from Iowa to a major city in the country. It seems impossible for all this to happen in one day, but this is part of the genius behind Season 4, as well as the genius of Habib Marwan that he was able to plan it all out, and nearly succeeded in his attempts.

What I love about Season 4 is more than just the action and pulse pounding suspense throughout and the surprise ending. I love the main characters in the show - Jack Bauer, Tony Almeida, James Heller, Curtis Manning, Habib Marwan, David Palmer, Paul Raines, and of course Chloe O'Brian. More importantly however, I love the overall genius behind the season. We live in a nation that up until 9/11, had not been attacked since Pearl Harbor. The overall casualty list of 9/11 and Pearl Harbor is somewhere around 3000 people. This is not to undermine these attacks, being a tragic and detrimental loss to our great nation as they were, but I'd like you to think about this. However in retrospect, Habib Marwan makes Osama Bin Laden look like a pawn in a game of Chess. Can you imagine if Marwan was real, and if his attacks had actually succeeded without Jack Bauer and his awesome allies? This nation would never recover. The nation would be humiliated by the public televised execution of the Secretary of Defense and the shooting down of Air Force One. This nation would be forever scarred by the reactor meltdowns throughout the country and the utter devastation of Los Angeles. That nuclear warhead would have wiped out the entire city - a city which consists of over 9 million people, and the radiation in the places that are hit would make those areas uninhabitable for almost a century. That's what I love about Season 4.

Thank god for people like Jack Bauer and those who serve their country with pride and honor, to worry about their share of the reward only after the job is done, and to put their own lives in front of others to protect the innocent from those who seek to destroy us. Obviously there is no real Jack Bauer in this country, but his heroism is depicted at its best in Season 4, and his heroism is reflected by those in the military, firefighters - like the ones who went into the collapsing World Trade Center to get people out, policemen who fight crime every day, and people who keep a constant watch over the security of the greatest nation on the face of the earth. This season isn't to make any political statement even if it may seem apparent or even prudent to do so; this season isn't to try and justify torture and condone lawyers who defend clients who are clearly guilty, nor is this season trying to show Arabs and Middle Easterners as the clear enemy. This season is a depiction of American heroism at its best in the face of great evil and danger, and this season is a brilliant story with a very bittersweet ending that leads straight into the awesome Season 5.

24 is my all time favorite series on Television and Season 4 is my favorite season so far, and probably always will be unless Seasons 7 or 8 manage to top it. I hope this review was helpful to you all, and I hope that those who watch the show will continue to watch it to the end and perhaps pull some friends into the fun as well. Thanks for reading this, God Bless You, and God Bless the United States of America."

"24 Season Four has Jack facing mid-eastern extremists. The plot is solid (as is the acting) and the action is just plain awesome. As common to 24 however, there are a lot of things that happen that are quite frustrating :p. But really this is a great season of 24 and worth watching whether you are a fan or not.

On a side note, I got my slim pack of Season 4 at a sale at an electonics store, I can't believe the ridiculous price Amazon is asking for these slim packs online."
24 Just keeps getting better.

"And I thought the last three season were good, season 4 is jam packed with action and a thought out sophisticated plot as usual."
