"I purchased this DVD hoping to add two classic comedies to my collection. There is no doubt that the original film versions were hilarious. However, the quality of the video in this particular release is so poor as to make the imagery almost unintelligible. Most of the characters' faces appear as white light within a faint silhouette. The audio is fair if you feel nostalgic for the old radio days. I must confess that I was unable to sit through more than ten minutes of either feature. Surely modern digital enhancement could provide us with a viewable version of these films.I don't know if I'll ever buy another DVD without reading a review first."

"Abbott and Costello Movie Night is a very good disc with two classic films and two episodes of "the abbott and costello show". the first film on the disc is "Africa Screams" where the lovely looking Diane Emerson is trying to find a book called "Dark Safari" by the famous explorer Cuddleford because of a map inside that will lead her to diamonds. When Mrs. Emerson offers $2,500 for the map inside the book Buzz Johnson (Abbott)states that his co-worker Stanley Livingston (Costello) knows the map by heart and is a great explorer(which of course is a farce)there on they're way to Africa. The only down side to the film is that its a little slow and about 5 mins. in a gold logo of Vintage entertainment appears in the corner of the screen for about 3 and a half mins. pretty funny 3.5/5
The Second film on the disc is "Jack and the Beanstalk" in which, well you all know the story. very funny and great songs 5/5
the last things on the disc are the the two episodes of "the Abbott and Costello show". the first episode is "Vacation" which is abbott and costello try to go on vacation.very funny and has lots of great gags. 5/5
The Second episode is "Drug store" where a&c take a job at a drug store to pay the rent. pretty funny some great gags. 4.5/5
Over all its a wonderful disc for a 7 buck public domain disc and it's just wonderful anyway.4.5/5
