Movie Reviews

The agassi's father story
Agassi Fan | 11/06/2007
(3 out of 5 stars)

"A little bit dissapointed with the DVD, I'm a real fan of Andre and the DVD is more related to the life of Andre's father: Mike Agassi. Three DVDs ,but you pay $12 just to see the third one: the 1992 Wimbledon 5 set final Agassi-Ivanisevic a must see definitely. After 15 years of this great final, I was really looking to see again the long-hair Agassi smashing powerful forehands and backhands against the big and talented young Goran Ivanisevic.

Disc 1 is just the life of Mike Agassi, who really is not that charismatic to take advantage of his son's fame and gain total footage in the DVD, it really sucks, no one cares about Mike Agassi's life if the DVD is title "Agassi: The Journey of a tennis legend", the legend is Andre not the old Mike.

The second DVD is a tennis tutorial of 5 or 6 tennis professor who provides tips about how to improve your game, but how this relates to Agassi's life: nothing at all.

If you love to see classic matchs, you can buy this set of three DVDs (which comes is a nice deluxe package), just to see the third one: the complete 1992 Wimbledon match."
Don't Waste Your Money!

"This title is deceiving because it has NOTHING to do with Andre Agassi's story. The first disc is a complete waste of time. It has nothing to do with Andre's life, and everything to do with his grouchy old man's life. I would have loved to see some interaction with Andre and his father, but there was absolutely none of that. His father has a huge ego!!! The first disc should have been titled "Mike Agassi's Story". I think that this is false advertisement.
The second disc has good tips on all areas of the game, but it looked like it was edited by a teenager. I got so tired of being reintroduced to the different tennis pros. They kept saying their names and place of employment over and over and over again. It would have been nice to have Andre on there giving tips since it was entitled "The Agassi Story, The Journey of a Tennis Legend".
Don't waste your money or time even watching this very poor product. The third disc was good as Andre was actually on the video playing. What a concept! The producer of this product should be ashamed of such a poor piece of entertainment."
A very disappointed fan!

"As a huge Agassi fan I am very disappointed with this item. The first two disks are a total waste. Only the last one with the 92 Wimbledon final is worth watching. Why is Andre not in these interviews? WTF? It seems that the purpose of the first disk is to praise Mike Agassi and not Andre. It should be titled the Mike Agassi story."
Misleading

"Product is aptly named "The Agassi Story" on the box/cover b/c it IS about "Agassi"--Mike Agassi, his dad. Waste of money to purchase this if you want to see any background on Andre Agassi. There was little to nothing on Andre. The product's only saving grace is the complete coverage of the 92 Wimbledon Final. If you're looking for anything about Andre Agassi on DVD, don't buy this, unless like me, you were able to get it for just 2.99 b/c that's what it's worth... Actually, less than that..."
