"After reading books by Ilgs and Ames on Ages and Stages, I was hoping for a video that summaraized each stage. Well, this does a summary, but is so brief that it seemed to be more of a commercial for the stage, rather than a review/summary I had hoped. Maybe it's just because, though dated, Ilgs and Ames covers each age/stage in its own entire book and includes helpful information on not only what is typical behavior for most kids that age, and the 6 month changes, but ideas on how to motivate, and relate to them. Also, they give ideas on what they are and are not ready to learn, so are very helpful for teachers as well as parents. Though this was not intended to be a review for "Your One Year Old" "Your Two Year Old," etc. it is from that perspective that I watched this video. I'd love to have suggestions on DVD(s) that do a better job, maybe showing examples of children exhibited behaviors and adults using techniques that work well with that age/stage. To this DVD's credit, I did not pay attention to its length before purchasing. It is short, so couldn't be as thorough as I had hoped."
