Director James Cameron once again at his best. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and others hit the high notes in this! A must watch!

Regardless of some of the negative reviews on the site I decided to order this set anyways, and I'm glad I did. Two reasons for my preference is 1) when I'm watching an extended version If possible I like to spread it out over at least two nights; 2) the added scenes only served to add to the excellence of this film. I'm waiting very impatiently for part two to be released. I've seen bits and pieces on YouTube and MSN's video pages, and what little I've seen looks very promising. I guess the difference is more about how big a fan of the original you are. TY, billystan3

What a complete and utter waste. This film is really just an excuse to try out new cgi technology. It's a boring mess with no original thought whatsoever.

Great to watch in 2-D just as well as 3-D. The story and images hold up either way.

Change Disks to See 2nd Half of Movie??!!
David Wills | 11/05/2010
(1 out of 5 stars)

"Avatar is my all-time favorite movie. I've been waiting for this release for a long time so that I could see the extra footage. But changing disks in the middle of an action movie is just guaranteed to ruin the flow of the experience. All they had to do was invest in a fourth disk and each version could have stood alone on it's own disk. Do they really have to economize this way?

I was about to buy this set, but instead I've just purchased the single disk original theatrical release. Good enough until the "ultimate special edition" comes out with individual disks for the different versions of the movie."
Time to buy it on bluray

"this has everyone you want on a blu-ray special edition, i dont care about 3d there are only a handful of 3D blue ray movies anyway"
