Delightful sacred music sung by heavenly choir!
Milda Ruffo | Mount Royal, Quebec Canada | 11/13/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I took a chance buying this because the description doesn't say very much about it, not even a picture, just a list of the repertoire. (Many of my favorite sacred pieces are in it, which is what tempted me to try it.) Well, it is proably one of the best bargains you will find starring the Choir of St. John's College Cambridge conducted by Christopher Robinson with Peter Davis at the organ. The second part includes cello and harp as well. The boys' choir is wonderful as is the organist. Some pieces are sung without accompaniment, with appropriate nuances, and I know they are difficult because our choir of adults had trouble learning some of them! The camera crew is to be congratulated on their work. You see quite a bit of the lovely St. John's College Chapel, as well as close-ups of the individual singers. If you have surround sound, you will be enchanted with the sound as well. Don't miss it! You will be glad to have it in your choral music collection to enjoy often."
