"I like a lot of underground hip hop, unfortunatley a lot of this DVD showcases artists I don't really care for, plus the camera work is bunk and low budget, on top of that the sound quality is horrible on every song. I felt jipped on the "Pharcyde" performance, they edit everyone out except Fat lip on "Passin Me By", that was my introduction to this worthless collection of good artists being taped on cheap camcorders then thrown together and packaged as some "all meat and potatoes" bull----. There are a few good moments here, Aesop and El-P doing "Daylight" in a packed instore was kinda dope as well as MF DOOM's live performance. If you're a big Atmosphere fan you'll probably really dig this, they gave Slug quite a few songs on this. The songs that are good are ruined by the terrible quality of the overall production, and most of the performances cut off halfway through, that's the thing that irritates me most about this DVD. I by no means expected perfection as far as the sound quality when I picked this up, but I didn't expect this to be unbearable to sit through. Basement TV could have been really good, but it was just sloppily thrown together and made to look like a good buy by throwing a bunch of big underground names on the back. I also want to point out this thing promises basement battles, but you really get 3 or four battles between no named emcee's who have very limited skills, and I'm no battle emcee by any means but the people they showcase on here aren't either apparently, I'm not even close to exagerating on how weak these battle's are. To each his own but my copy will be found in the used bin at my local record store."
