Given the wonderful stars in this movie, I was surprised that it was so bland.

I know this is a rather generic comment, but I loved this film. If you are a true crime and dark comedy fan, you will enjoy this film too. I cannot help but feel slightly guilty for loving this movie as it really is based on a true story. The acting in the film is wonderful, but MacLaine, McConaughey, & Black are amazingly talented actors. Sometimes, however, I am disappointed by Black's material, not his acting or performance, but the script or film as a whole. I found myself so wrapped up in the movie and "story," that I had to remind myself as to what was to come & that it was a true crime. The tone of the film reminded me of the Coens' Raising Arizona, Fargo, & Big Lebowski.
