Movie Reviews

Superbly hilarious!

"And still one of the best date movies around. A boyish Bruce Willis coming off his emergence in "Moonlighting" fights off insanely obsessed ex-boyfriend John Laroquette while dealing with stunning Kim Basssinger's "alcohol allergy" with hysterical results. The business meeting with the Japanese patron is classic Blake Edwards. I found myself laughing out loud throughout this kooky farce. Very funny. The DVD has both widescreen and standard, the transfer is pretty good, but the 2 channel dolby is semi-hollow. Who cares, this movie is just pure fun! 5 Magnums"
TRULY A GREAT COMEDY

"I remembered this movie from it's original release. My daughter watched it years later and truly loved it. We showed it to my wife and son-in-law and were taken back to its original freshness because of their reaction. My wife and I showed to our best friends and got the same reaction. I think it is impossible not to laugh at this film. Bruce Willis is a natural comedic talent, proven by Moonlighting. No matter how many times I watch this movie I always enjoy it.
I would reccomend this movie to anyone regardless of age who want to watch a real comedy. There is no thinking required, just entertainment. If you do start thinking it only gets funnier....and funnier.
The whole cast does a great job and use their natural talents. There is not a weak link in the cast. A great comedy film that is really under rated. Why are movies like this always overlooked by critics and awards?"
A COMEDY WORTH SEEING!!!

"It has been awhile since I have seen this movie. The first time was in the theatre when it came out with my family. Since then I had seen it at Blockbuster and picked it up for the heck of it. I forgot how funny this movie was. And the most overlooked performance has to be by the late Phil Hartman (Ted Davis). What a comic he was! He had joined SNL in 1986 so I'm guessing this was one of his first movies after joining the show. Bruce Willis (Walter Davis) & Kim Basinger (Nadia Gates) do an equally good job of acting like a couple who are smitten with each other (when they aren't drunk, that is.) Adding to the laughs is Stephanie Faracy (The Great Outdoors) as Susie Davis, Walter's sister-in-law, John Larroquette (of Night Court) as Nadia's ex-crazed boyfriend David Bedford, and William Daniels (Boy Meets World) as Judge Harold Bedford, David's father. This is a great movie for a Friday night. It was just as much fun pointing out the cameos from Billy Vera & Stanley Jordan. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did!"
