The acolyte's reaching the gates of heaven

"A highly narrative reading, 'architecture' yields to journey. Very strong and well produced."
Bruckner: Symphony No. 5 - Gunter Wand

"Excellent DVD. Gunter Wand was not looking to be the star at the concert, he did not adopt poses divo, he did not want to be the center of attention. Mr. Wand knew in detail the score, he led the musicians in a masterly manner, served to the music of Bruckner in a humble way. The climax that they get are heavenly. The sound recording is excellent, albeit "only" way Stereo. The video is not high definition, but still very good, shows us the real communication between the musicians and a great director. Those who love Bruckner's music should not fail to hear and see this disc."
