Uriah Heep 'period of confusion' produces two Classics !!
Azlan Mohammed | Trinidad.West Indies. | 07/28/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Uriah Heep is my favorite band of all time, and just looking at these footage had me wanting more.Personally, for me John Lawton made two of the greatest records with 'Heep' Fire Fly and Innocent Victim, Lawton's voice is strong and is filled with soul which were perfect for these albums, whereby David Byron was very Melodious and equally Harmonic...people tend to compare them but they were two totally different 'brilliant' singers and Uriah Heep never seemed to capture a frontman with such vocal range thereafter. These interviews are great, I agreed with producers Rob Corich and Pip Williams, their albums rating were fair and comments were professional,Ken Hensley former member and one of the greatest poets ever in his Interview really reflected the pressures and confusion the band was going through then, Ken at times were very 'frank'in his comments and although not to excited with the Lawton projects even went on to say he had no desire to be a member of heep but was continually persuaded to stay in the band by producer Gerry Bron who in my opinion was the half of heep problem then.
Bassist Trevor Bolder spoke of the friction the band encountered with Ken Hensley then, who in his terms 'was ruling the roost'.This Dvd is a must have for any Heep fan."
Decent bio of a legendary band in decline.

"First off, a warning to those expecting the "rare footage of the Lawton era line-up". Oh it's there all right, but all the sound is dubbed in from the albums. The reviewers tend to be on the mark most of the time and offer vastly different opinions of the 1977-1980 albums, which gives this a ring of validity. Not everything Heep did was fantastic and this bio spotlights both the high and low points of this era. Gerry Bron gets old pretty quickly with his consistently negative perspective on everything Heep did after 1973. Ok, so Byron was the classic Heep vocalist, does Bron have to point that out every time he's on screen? Still, the overall picture is pretty good. You get generous song samples from each album, which allow the viewer to get a good perspective on the band's changing direction as the 70's came to a close. Definitely worth a rental and if you're a really big Heep fan then probably worth buying."
