Literally anyone could have taken on the role that Jim Carrey did in this movie and been just as believable and effective. His talents were wasted. Personally I'd rather see him flailing and making stupid faces than doing this sort of "serious" role. Funnyman Carrey takes on a much different role in this slow moving horror drama that you keep waiting for more to happen.
