One of the better releases from the Ghost House Underground direct to dvd imprint. Lordi is a costume Heavy Metal band that's very popular in Europe. This film stars the band as monsters. Leave your brain at the door and you can enjoy this film.

DARK FLOORS is an effective mix of disturbing images and themes. An autistic girl is undergoing tests at a hospital as her anxious father looks on. The test is a simple CAT scan, but seems to trigger pain in Sarah which opens a parallel dimension where the only inhabitants are a security guard, a nurse, the father and daughter and a hospital visitor. Everyone else has vanished.

And then, things go to hell.

My take on this and I could be wrong, is this--could the film maker been trying to use the deserted hospital and it's monsters as the symbol of the child's autism? We don't know what is locked away inside an autistic child's mind, what demons they endure. Perhaps this was Sarah's journey to reach the real world and escape the traps that her autistic mind had set. I know I may be overreaching here, but this was my take on DARK FLOORS.

DARK FLOORS are dark, indeed. Especially if the darkness is inside you.

Cheesy special F/X but other than that a good story line. Really great audio production though! The audio effects were amazing. I wish I had the studio's sample pack in .wav format! ~ Joe

LONG LIVE LORDI
Dirk William Bragg | Ravenna, MI | 01/21/2010
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Though the movie is hard to follow, (Spoiler Alert: Each floor is like a time flux and if you watch each floor on a different screen at the same time, you will see they are in sync.) it is a good movie and with LORDI in it, they make it a 4-star film instead of 2. P.S. Awesome song during the end credits."
Lamest movies ever!

"This product is a waste of money. The movies suck. They have no plot, bad actors, and lame special effects. Don't waste your money like I did. The other Ghosthouse movies are much better. I am very disappointed that these were picked to be called horror movies to die for."
Dark Floors

(3 out of 5 stars)

"A father and his invalid daughter are trapped in a deserted hospital along with several other strangers as the dark hallways come to life with gruesome demons. DARK FLOORS is a stagnant haunted hospital tale that never gets off the ground. It feels like a scrapbook of more successful Horror features butchered in to a single incoherent film where the characters just wander about the halls aimlessly for over an hour. When the occasional demon does appear, the characters are rarely frightened or even stunned. The decayed hospital setting is sufficiently creepy, but the only workable elements of the entire film lie in the creature FX and costuming of the demons themselves. Considering the costumes belonged to the Shock Rocker band Lordi, and that the film was initially conceived as a poor excuse to mass market the band on the international market, it cant even take credit for these creations. DARK FLOORS proves to be a bland, uninspired, and unoriginal Horror film that relies far too heavily on the strength of its villains while forgetting about minor elements like character or plot.
