Movie Reviews

Continues To Be Very Good! Recommended!

(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is the 4th DVD in the "Darker Than Black" series. Since this DVD contains epoisodes 15-18, I recommend starting on Darker Than Black: Volume One as there is a lot of backstory not explained in these episodes.

Unlike the first two DVDs, which had 5 episodes each, this one (and Vol 3) only has 4 episodes (two 2-part chapters) and includes some "extras" that I didn't find very interesting.

There is a lot more plot development in these two chapters and somewhat less action.

The first chapter brings back MI6 agents (including November 11) who are working on solving a string of bombings. This one moved fairly fast and also showed us a bit more of Hei's background.

The second chapter was focused around another "Doll" and a group of gangsters. Yin continues to act out of the "Doll" mode as well. We also get to see Hei develope his social skills.

The theme music at the both begining and ending has changed (I liked the old ones better), as well as the opening animation (which looks very cool).

As before, the animation ranges between very good to very bad.

Recommended! The next DVD can be ordered Darker Than Black: Volume Five"
