Compass Feng Shui
Rebecca Johnson | Washington State | 06/05/2006
(3 out of 5 stars)

"A Day at the Spa: Feng Shui introduces compass Feng Shui as related to a magic square. This is not as easy to understand as other Feng Shui DVDs I've watched, but there were quite a few new things to learn about dispelling negative energy in your home and how rows of books on a shelf or even a plant placed on a step can help to increase the positive flow of energy.

Should you paint your front door purple or create more harmony by placing symbolic objects in specific rooms? The benefits of essential oils is an interesting aspect and it may make you think more about candles or buying cinnamon or patchouli. There are beautiful scenes in nature and explanations of why this age-old art works to promote a sense of peace. I can tell you one thing, when you first move into a house and everything is still in boxes, there is definitely a sense of confusion. Once you have everything back in place, it seems like life is much less stressful. So, you can truly test Feng Shui out in real life to find out if it works for you. I'm much happier now that my books are back on the shelves.

While this DVD does not focus on the use of color, there is a fun section where you can figure out which color you should paint your front door and there are ideas about which colors to use in rooms according to your compass analysis. A compass is needed to follow this style of Feng Shui and I found it a little more complex than other methods. As with every Feng Shui DVD I watch, I learn something new and will definitely be buying plants for the stairs to encourage a more positive flow of energy into the house. The Day at the Spa DVDs are also just fun to watch because they are very calming.
