Member Movie ReviewsElizabeth B. (bethieof96) from NINETY SIX, SC Reviewed on 3/12/2014... It has the classic cliche elements for a perfect B flick: a mysterious misunderstood child, a town with a secret, and an alien. While not a direct remake of The Day The World Ended, it utilizes the original film by showing segments on a TV in the story and showing the vhs video box cover as part of the child's interest in aliens. High production values combined with B movie flair work just enough to be passable entertainment for some, but if you enjoy the *wink-wink* of its intended fun, it comes out a winner. It has the look and feel of a good X-Files episode with more psychological horror elements of the newer Outer Limits. That's not bad at all, considering. DAVID T. (Dave66) from DUNKIRK, IN Reviewed on 1/16/2012... When New York City therapist Dr. Jennifer Stillman (Nastassja Kinski) takes a job as an elementary school psychologist in a small rural town, she arrives in her new home only to be treated with scorn by the town's residents. After she befriends a strange young boy, she finds herself in the middle of a battle involving a monster, the boy, and an ages-old curse on the town itself. THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED first appeared on Cinemax as part of the CREATURE FEATURES series, which remakes several 1950s monster films from Samuel L. Arkoff's American International Pictures. 1 of 1 member(s) found this review helpful.
