Movie Reviews

This film really isn't all that bad
Dancing Ganesha | Bangalore, India | 04/15/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This is definitely not a "great" film, and it rather besmirches Poe and spreads some already biased and untrue "facts" about his private life and personal habits, but the entire film, nevertheless, still has a nice "feeling" about it that I cannot explain. Perhaps it's the gothic touch or something, I'm not quite sure. Anyhow, I always enjoy an offbeat movie with Poe as the subject, and this one was okay by my standards. Not great, but okay. If you like dark horror with a psychological twist, and could call yourself a fan of the gothic or "dark subculture," this movie might prove somewhat entertaining and interesting."
Nothin' goin' on but the rent

"Bleh! I bought this primarily because it was directed by HORROR OF PARTY BEACH's Del Tenney. He may have moved up in technical chops, but the story is a dreary mess without the promised-for horror and eroticism! It's one of the rare instances where I thought the DVD company should have paid me to watch it!"
