Really strange plotline but a must for Sci-Fi, Alien and War of the Worlds fans!

Movie was done well. Very action packed and sci-fi oriented. My sons really enjoyed this series.

It was probably the high star rating that caused me to order this movie. However, I found it to be very disappointing. Talk about cheesey!! It may have a following as a cult movie, which is about the best I can say.

Exciting mix of documentary and realism. Great special effects. Riveting story.

I tried to watch up but gave up after 20 minutes. Shot as a pseudo-documentary, it moves at a snail's pace and there's not one character of interest. The computer-generated special effects quickly grow tiresome as well.

Sci-fi normally is my least favorite genre, so I put off seeing this film until now. I'm SO glad I gave it a chance. Really well made...great acting and effects.

This film is amazing. It's similar in a way to the 80s sci-fi classic Alien Nation. The basic idea of how the government would handle a group of aliens who arrived on the planet is very interesting. In Alien Nation the aliens were more human appearing so they fit into society. The aliens in District 9 r giant insect types who don't fit in. Setting this film in South Africa and playing off that nation's race relation problems was a good idea. This movie has a deeper context then one would expect. Well worth checking out. Intelligent and very entertaining.

While the plotline was very predictable, the quality of the CGI and the acting MORE than make up for it. VERY good. Thought-provoking. Will keep this dvd a long time.
