Movie Reviews

Don Winslow of the Navy - Volume 1 Chapters 1-6
Frank L. | 12/29/2006
(1 out of 5 stars)

"I am not sure what the reviewer, J.Lovins " Mr. Jim", who gave this product a 5 star rating was watching, but it could not have been the product I received.
The quality reminds me of one of those unrestored 50-year-old black & white TV shows that you see periodically. I have loads of high quality 50 and 60-year-old DVD movies for comparison and this is by far the worst print I have ever seen.
I suppose for $6.98 per DVD I should have known better.
However, the single reviewer was misleading to say the least when he said:
"Universal Pictures is always good till the last drop and this serial is no exception...there is a great deal of entertainment here for the cliffhanger fans out there...all courtesy of VCI Entertainment, who in my humble opinion is the best there is in restoring early serials and features."
I do not have any reference to VCI or Universal on the product that I received. My DVD is from ALPHA VIDEO. Can anyone explain?
