Movie Reviews

I can't believe it!

"I'm shocked! I look this video up and I find not even a picture of the video, and a notice that it goes in and out of print! I saw this video a thousand times, and it isn't just about a boy who learns something from an old man- It's so much more than that! It's about a painter who is granted a gift of magic and the ability to talk to the forest animals. He saves the forest using his knowledge and love of nature. I can't believe this movie is so hard to get!"

"This is a family film, a heart-warming story loved by children and enjoyed by adults as well. Once considered a family classic, approved for showing in elementary schools in the 40s and 50s, this film still has great meaning. The trained animals show off to the delight of all ages. Behind the interesting story line is a conservation theme that old-growth trees should not be carelessly harvested to the detriment of the forest creatures."

"I saw this movie as a young boy and loved it. In my later years I've been looking for it so I could see it again. Now that I have found it I won't be buying it. I don't know what quality this DVD is, but as much as I would like to have this movie it is not worth the price. You are totally out of your minds to charge over $100 for this DVD. Anyone who would pay this price is out of their mind too.
Since I have not seen this DVD I can't really rate this product. The original movie is worth 5 stars; however, I rate this product only 1 for the lousy price.

P.S.--After posting this review I discovered a link to purchase this movie from Turner Classic Movies. I clicked the link and found this title for $14.99 plus shipping; much more reasonable. The purchase actually goes through Movies Unlimited. I would suggest that you try [..] and search for this title."
