I saw this movie as a kid and it has been in my watch it again list since then. Unfortunately, this movie has been hidden away and forgotten by the media. You can't even find a copy at any video rental store.
I rate this movie as a 5+ stars, because it is a non-stop hair raising adventure. Jack Warden has a great part as the American "businessman" with immoral intentions, claiming the company did him wrong. For those who enjoy a love story, there is some of that in this movie also, albiet, a love/hate relationship between Madlyn Rhue's part and Yul Brynner's. Sal Mineo did his best acting in this movie as a worshipper of the stars heroic martyr role.
The scenery is mostly desert with a couple of oasis' and some city scenes, but they don't detract from the story line as the escape unfolds, the desert scenes just add to the danger of speed, sand and spinning tires. The chases through the desert are great at break-neck speeds and keep you on the edge of your seat through out the 93 minutes of adventure.
Out does anything out in theaters today, including the absence of foul language and other unnecessary movie selling criteria.
