Frank Sinatra 50's TV Show
Mike Agron | Carmichael, CA United States | 05/25/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"As a long time fan and follower of Sinatra, his mid 50's was his most interesting vocally and as a recording artist, although his real performing art was most evident in the early to mid 60's and I highly recommend purchasing any of the A Man & Music TV Shows from '65-'69 as they are simply equisite to watch and listen to.

So I bought this DVD to upgrade my VHS version of the '57 TV Show with Bob Hope, Peggy Lee and Kim Novack, and the good news is that the audio and video is pretty crisp, and great performances of his classics such as Tramp, I Get a Kick Out of You, Put Your Dreams Away and All the Way, plus another one or two. What was disappointing is that the opening number, The Lonesome Road is missing or was cut off from the shows opening. It was a great recording. A pleasant surprise was the early '50s TV Show, one that I had never heard of or seen, but the singing and 4 part harmony of the vocal group, The Whiporwhols, was worth the cost of the DVD. Worth purchasing."
