"Teen actress Brie Larson is now a singer. The young actress got her start in movies. She starred in the Disney Channel film Right on Track, which was the Disney Channel's most watched original movie. She also appeared in the MGM major motion picture Sleepover. Brie is now doing the music thing. She is signed to Casablanca Records. Casablanca Records is also the label that Lindsay Lohan is signed to.
"Finally out of P.E.." The DVD includes the video for "She Said," and other cool goodies. Brie has been called a mix between "Pink" and Edie Brickell. New fans who have only heard her song "She Said," will be pleased to know that this DVD includes several other songs from Brie.
DVD Track Listing
1. "She Said" video
2. Behind The Scenes-"She Said" video
3. "Finally Out of P.E." live version
4. "Done With Like" live version
5. "She Said" live version

This DVD is priced just right. This DVD is a great way to get to know this up and coming actress and singer. Her debut album Finally Out of P.E. will be released soon, but until then this is a great way to hear more, see more, and learn more about this up and coming young star."

"[...]It was great price and I really enjoy the DVD [...]
the DVD features:
She Said - video
She Said - Behind the Scenes
"Finally Out of P.E."
"Done With Like"
Whatever (audio only)
I thought the "She Said" video was cute. It has Brie working as a fast-food waitress that wants to do more than just serve burgers while putting up with snobby customers, burger-stealing Napolean Dynamite look-a-likes and an idiot boss.
The video is shot very well. Brie's beautifully lighted throughout and her vivaciousness comes alive in front of the camera. She has true stage presence and I'm sure her live performances really are worth watching.
The Behind the Scenes video (3:40 min) doesn't go into too much detail, but it's interesting to hear the concept for "Finally Out of P.E." from Brie herself.
The AOL sessions (taped Jan. 11, 2005) are ok, but just on this side of bland. Brie looks great but "Finally out of PE" drags a little and what I didn't like is that it looks like Brie's not playing her guitar. She's playing the chords, but not really hitting the strings, which is a shame because it's so obvious from watching the other videos that she actually can play her guitar very well.
The same with "Done With Like". she doesn't have a guitar but again, the tempo could be a bit faster. Brie shines through in the vocals and she does seem to be having fun with the song. She has a great band backing her up.
The "She Said" AOL Session is a bit better. Brie's playing an acoustic guitar and seems at her peak here. The one thing I've noticed about Brie's music is that it really grows on you. When I first heard "She Said" I didn't really like it, but the more I listened to it, the more I could hear the nuances in her voice and her talent really coming through. With a little more exposure, it could be the next great teen anthem, and a positive one at that.
Brie has co-writing credits on "Finally Out of P.E." and "Done with Like".
The Sessions@aol interview (4:02) has Brie talking about her musical influences; she cites Gwen Stefani as being her inspiration. She also givers her opinion of lip-syncing; "If you're going to be singer, sing."
Brie also talks about her other interests and when asked what she would be doing if she wasn't singing or acting, Brie says she would like to be an animal trainer at Sea World. She also confesses her guilty pleasure as being the TV show, "O.C" and insists on there being complete silence in the house while she's watching it.
When asked what motto or slogan she lives by, Brie states there are many but her favorite is "Don't Give Up".
Brie says, "The day before [the music video was finished] I was bawling,I was in complete hysterics! 'I'm quitting! I can't do this! I'm going to suck! Everybody's going to hate me!' and I got the music video and it went amazing. It was so much fun and everyone was freaking out, like, 'Oh my gosh! This is such a great music video!'and I was having a blast and I was so, 'Maybe I should calm down a little!' "
The best part of the DVD is the final audio-only track, "Whatever". It has a dancey, R&B feel to it, and really stands out with its overlaid vocals and Brie's voice floating through the melody line.
I'm really hoping the best for Brie and I hope her CD will be the first of many. If I had one request, it would be to hear an acoustic track of just her and her guitar! As good as her band is, Brie has what it takes with just her, her guitar and an audience.

"This is a great DVD and I expect it to be the first of many for Brie Larson. She's a talented singer and you get more than the title song on this and it includes bonus features like her sessions@AOL performances.
I'm used to singers releasing DVD's for concerts but not for music videos. At this price, it is very affordable and should go in your collection."
