"The other reviewer makes some very good points and is no doubt better versed in an appreciation of classical music than I am. I am not necessarily only a classical music lover, I enjoy everything from John McLaughlin and Shakti to Daevid Allen and Gong, Sergei Nakariakov to Terry Riley to Daniel Barenboim.
However the point of Kremerata Baltica is not to faithfully reproduce beautiful renditions of well known classical pieces, the reason Kremerata Baltica is so special is that its sole (soul) reason for existence is to celebrate the glorius sound of stringed instruments played exceptionally well and with incredible focus and passion.
I have seen Kremerata Baltica live and I would have to say it may have been the finest concert I have ever seen. The intensity of their performance was simply incredible, the lush sounds and the way they caress and bring out the meaning in every phrase is beyond description.
If you enjoy Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica and have not had the chance to see them live this is the next best thing, until they issue another DVD. I would say buy this disc, you will not be disappointed."
