Essential Viewing! A Must!
Russ Bellinger | Bradenton, Florida USA | 02/24/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I just finished watching "Welcome Backstage" for the first time and I have to say that this rare treat is essential viewing for anyone who loves Greg's music, whether it be his work with KC or ELP or his underrated solo work. I have to say there were some moments on this disc where chills definately ran down my spine from hearing that voice. Greg's new band is awesome! Greg is the real deal (along with John Wetton - his Crimson counterpart)! They are true life legends, severely underrated talents who gave immense inspiration, beauty, and art to the music world and the world around them (be shure to check out Wetton's "Amorata" DVD). Greg is one of the all time best songwriters on the planet. "Welcome Backstage" also has exceptional sound in DTS surround. To the guy who only gave this disc one star, dude, you are exactly the reason this DVD is available only as an import. Great music and songwriting like this rarely gets heard in this country and the bands rarely have the chance to make it over here to gig because of the shallow attitude towards rare talents such as this. Who cares if they drink, smoke, get fat, age with time, whatever! It's about the MUSIC dude! And this disc, a very rare disc, holds the keys to the kingdom and music that will resonate into eternity. Also contains interesting interviews at rehearsal with the entire team of the band. Without question this disc is worth every penny. The only thing that might have made this disc any better would be to have a guest appearance by Robert Fripp."
