Robert Carlberg | Seattle | 02/01/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "On March 30 1990, Hatfield & The North reunited (with the excellent Sophia Domancich filling in for keyboardist Dave Stewart) for a one-off gig for British TV. The "Bedrock" series -- so named because it aired at like 3:00 in the morning -- was to showcase the best of British Classic Rock and included such notables as Hatfield, Caravan, Gong, Hawkwind, Asia, Lindisfarne, Sky, Family, Strawbs and many others, utilizing a combination of archival footage and, where possible, a reuniting of the original members. The series was a great success, although the anticipated VHS, CD and laserdisc releases were not forthcoming (for a variety of reasons). When, in early 2001, bits and pieces of the Bedrock series finally began to surface on DVD under the "Classic Rock Legends" banner, it was an occasion for rejoicing among fans. The audio of this Hatfield concert -- recorded live in a TV studio in Nottingham -- was released in 1993 as the "Live 1990" compact disc but SEEING the tunes performed adds a whole other dimension to our enjoyment. The DVD is missing one song from the CD, "Underdub" but otherwise the two are identical. Roger Dean graphics complete the set."
