Movie Reviews

Not worth it

"I was pretty disappointed with this DVD when I received it. Maybe I expected too much but the only other bodybuilding DVD I've watched before this one was Arnold's "Pumping Iron" and that was a great movie. Jay Cutler's "New, Improved, and Beyond" is just someone who had a camera and recorded Jay working out at the gym. You see him do his entire workout which is why the video is so long. He barely talks at all and he gives very little advice to anyone who is interested in bodybuilding.

The DVD itself is poorly made. The editing is amateur and there isn't even a title menu to navigate through the chapters. The video starts right when you insert it in to the DVD player. And when the first disc is done, you put the 2nd disc in and it starts right away.

The only redeeming part about this DVD is when he talks about what he eats because it's interesting to see how hardcore this guy really is. There is a part where he gives a tour of his house but its all really boring. Its like a super long version of MTV Cribs, without music, and bad editing. At the end of the 2nd disc, they show Jay giving a talk in a high school classroom which was semi-interesting, but still really dry. The kids didn't even give an applause at the end of his speech. Sad.

If you want to watch a huge monster work out for 4 hours, buy this DVD. If you were looking to find some insight in to the world of bodybuilding, don't waste your money."
A Must Have

"Man, after seeing both discs I just wanted to pump iron all day! Jay is HUGE and a gentle giant as well! Buy it, you won't be dissapointed."
Unwatchable and completely useless

"If you like burning money this is a good way to do it, this is by far one of the most boring workout videos I have seen, nothing more than a someone with a Camera following Jay around, the least you would expect is Jay giving instructions about his exercise techniques but nope you don't even get that, Jay is very boring and cold in this video, he barely says anything and when he does he uses the word " my body this " "my body that " over and over again. Even when you see Jay at home drinking diet Mountain Dew or eating plain rice cakes he doesn't explain his detailed meal plan or give any useful information on dieting.
I would give this video zero stars if I could but sadly I couldn't."
