The thing that amazed me about this edition is the soundtracks. I know how a soundtrack works in a movie but this edition is an excellent example of it given that the two discs have the different soundtracks. It does give a different feel to the movie. The theatrical release seems more like a music video and the director's cut feels like a movie. I loved this comparison side by side since I am an amateur movie buff. Emphasis on amateur. I loved this movie back when it came out on VHS and still do with this DVD. It was fun watching my teenage daughters try to figure out who was playing Jack, though.

Two very Different Items

"Be aware that Legend and Legend Ultimate Edition are completely different items, but you'll still find mixed reviews as if they were a single item.

At first I bought Legend (which I then returned) with the idea of getting the version of the movie with the soundtrack by Tangerine Dream, but sadly this item I chose was the wrong one. Only the Ultimate Edition includes the 2 DVD pack with both versions of the movie that some reviews talk about.

The movie is really fascinating if you like fairy tale-like stories, thou it is not intended for children. The Tangerine Dream soundtrack enhances the experience of the movie, and yes, both versions differ a little bit, the US version is a little bit more explanatory.

If you're somehow curious about the movie let me say that it's worth to have, it's a very uncommon item, not many people know about it and that makes it interesting in a way, I'd say a Diamond in the Rough, and it really entertains. Make sure you buy the Ultimate Edition to get the whole pack of extras, which adds some value, specially to those not familiar with the movie at all."
