Movie Reviews

Pretty good new performances of old Whitesnake tunes
Heinz Peter Opitz | Santiago, Chile | 02/18/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Beeing a Whitesnake fan, i guess i am autorised to review their work. In this case, i am reviewing a non Coverdale presentation, but one of his colleagues.
I am referring to Neil Murray, Micky Moody and Bernie Marsden, a.k.a the Paratroopers. Two special guests emulate DC's voice : Steffen Bergren and Dougie White. Both selected the song to be sung and of course, they give the best of themselves to make the song in particualr sound great. I give this DVD a 5 stars because, mostly of the good presentation: it is filmed in a good digital quality (no rawiness), the sound is fantastic, even dolby and stereo. The songs included are the ones, one would probably wanted to hear in the current WS formation, like Child of Babylon, Trouble, Love Hunter, etc, but, since they are old they are replaced with the Slide It In, 1987, Slip of The Tongue albums. Anyway, my all time favorite "Slow N Easy" is included here and i must admit, Bergreen does a very good job. The slide guitar Moody is incredible too. The show ends with Here I go Again, in their 1987 version where "hobo" is changed to "drifter" (what does any of both words mean, in any case?). Thing is the song is very good, with the audience clapping and cheering too.
The DVD comes also with bonus tracks, Marsden and Moody unplugged, which is in my opinion a good add.
If you are a Whitesnake fan, like the old albums, go ahead and buy the album: I assure you, you won't regret it and even thank me for the recommendation."
Great, the REAL Whitesnake! Great performance with soul!

"Great Performance by Bernie Marsden, Neil Murray, and Mickey Moody. Excellent vocalist too! (For Rainbow fans it has a guest appearance by Doogie White as well). All the great songs are played with WAY more feeling than on the big- budget- poser-fest with the pretty boys. Many people know that these guys wrote most of those great songs, and many prefer the original band to the latter line ups.You wont be disappointed if you like the original Whitesnake. You dont even miss Coverdale as the singer on this performance is really good. It also features bonus asoustic perfomances which are excellent. Don't judge music by looks or $.This is where it's at! Feel/soul/class. Thanks guys for putting this out!
