Movie ReviewsBrief but stunning C.A. Arthur | Tacoma, Washington | 08/01/2007 (4 out of 5 stars) "This is a 38 minute film of the Mel Lewis big band in Jerusalem in 1985. The band is incredibly good; virtually every section member is an accomplished soloist, and the group swings beautifully. The arrangements, while familiar to fans, are outstanding. This is a collection of New York's finest musicians, brought together and sustained by one of the best jazz drummers who ever lived. The film is flawed by poor camera work and two numbers by a decidedly mediocre female vocalist. Still, jazz fans will want to own this important piece of big band history."
