Before its time!

"These shows were just excellent. I had never seen them before but being a big Richard Boone fan I had heard about the show and wanted to see it. I must say that I found these shows to be very compelling. The show was before its time. They discuss several topics that are hard hitting and they pull no punches. I watched one show about a woman that found out that she has a lump on her breast. The show went thru her diagnosis and then her finding out that she has breast cancer and needs to have a masectomy. It also goes into depth about her feeling and her fears not only about her own fate but about her relationship with her fiance.

I expected sappy watered down sanitized stuff from this era. I was pleasantly suprised to find that this was not the case with The Medic. Also Richard Boone does the intro as he introduces each piece as a doctor of medicine. He is very convincing in this role. Also you might see several people who went on to become famous on the big screen and on TV."

"Despite the understandably low quality of the DVD, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this series again as I remembered it fondly. Even though there have been outstanding medical breakthroughs in the intervening decades, this show stood out as an interesting and informative source of information. It is also a treat to see some actors who went on to much bigger and better things."
