The band went their separate ways in 2002 but Michael Weston King continued to tour Europe and America, sharing the bill with many of the worlds finest musicians and songwriters, including Nick Cave, John Cale, Steve Earle, Roger McGuinn, Chris Hillman, Rodney Crowell, Guy Clark, Joe Ely, Joe Henry, Ron Sexsmith, and Townes Van Zandt. The Crowning Story is a visual snapshot of those 12 years. A fascinating mix of promo videos, TV appearances, interviews, and live footage filmed all over Europe and America, from the smallest of clubs to concert halls. From the early days of his groundbreaking band The Good Sons (seen here in concert, on TV, and in the promo video for the song Riding The Range with Townes Van Zandt ) through to his countless solo treks around the world, and on to his collaboration with Jackie Leven, who produced the 2003 album, A Decent Man, and with whom Michael formed The Decent Men in 2004.
