Movie Reviews

Decent show

"Definetly worth watching more than once. The band mixes up some of the hits to make them fresh, which works for the most part. The crowd looks 30 years old and up and that makes sense. The music is tight and Pat demonstrates the versitility of her voice. Her husband Neil cranks out some good solos but I always feel he could bust out more. Its fun to hear Pat explain some of her songs. The audio is slightly below standard, so you need to turn up the volume. The new songs are just missing something. Good fun throughout though, Pat can still rock."
Still as powerful a rocker as ever...but now with her tongue

"Pat says she's much happier with her career NOW than she was back when she felt tied to the fast-track -- and her happiness shows in this high-energy concert with only a few flaws. First off, she looks great -- trim and defined at the age of 50(!). Second, she sounds incredible and her band does too -- delivering as much heat and energy off of songs like Hell Is For Children and Promises In The Dark as they did 25 years ago. The only difference is that she now delivers her anthems with a nod to how fun they are to belt rather than taking them too seriously. The flaws? The concert looks as if it were staged just for the production of this video (so it feels somehow less live and spontaneous) and the occasional new song (Out of the Ruins) is just not my cuppa. Nitpicking, really. Enjoy the show -- she still out-hollas anyone. :)"
Pat rocks!

"after almost 30 years of rocking, pat sounds better than ever singing all her classic hits!"
PAT BENATAR AND NEIL GERALDO - SUMMER TOUR DVD

"PAT BENATAR AND HER HUSBAND NEIL GERALDO AND THEIR BAND ROCK!!! PAT BENATAR IS AN EXCELLENT ROCK VOCALIST AND NEIL IS AN EXCELLENT LEAD GUITAR PLAYER. THEY ROCK AND THEIR BAND ROCKS, AND THE AUDIENCE ROCKS MAKING THIS ONE GREAT CONCERT DVD!!!

THE SONG SET CONSISTS OF 15 SONGS, WHICH INCLUDES MOST OF THEIR CLASSIC HITS. THEY START OFF ELECTRIC, PERFORMING THEIR SONGS IN HARD ROCK FASHION. THEN AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE CONCERT, EXPECT A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF SOME OF THE SONGS DURING THE CONCERT. EXPECT ONE OR TWO ACOUSTIC VERSIONS DURING THE MIDDLE PART OF THE CONCERT, FOR EXAMPLE "LOVE IS A BATTLEFIED", THEY DO THIS IN A MILDER ACOUSTIC WAY, HOWEVER, IT IS STILL VERY WELL DELIVERED. PAT'S VOICE STARTS OFF SOFT, THEN GOES INTO HIGH POWER AND REALLY MAKES THE SONG ENJOYABLE. PLUS NEIL CAN POUND THAT ACOUSTIC GUITAR!!!

TOWARDS THE END OF THE CONCERT, THEY PICK UP THE PACE, AND RETURN TO THEIR ORIGINAL ELECTRIC, HARD ROCK VERSIONS. THEY DO AN OUTSTANDING JOB ON "HELL IS FOR CHILDREN" (PAT DEDICATES THIS ONE TO CHILD ABUSE VICTIMS). PLUS THEY END WITH A VERY "FIRED UP" VERSION OF "ALL FIRED UP"!!!

OVERALL, THIS IS A GREAT CONCERT, ITS GREAT TO SEE PAT AND NEIL STILL ROCKING. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT CONCERT DVD, AND I DO HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!"
