WHILE AN ATTRACTIVE, NAKED BLONDE IS BELOW DECK, PERRY PLAYF
Joseph W. Szilagy | Mississauga, Canada | 08/26/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"And, in the next scene, we see Perry, (decked in a yacht captain's hat), holding the now clothed blonde against an ominous, dark overcast night sky, like something out of film noir! Actually, he was just trying to keep her still for the moment, so that she can explain why he and Paul had to fish her out of the ocean, while being hotly pursued by a vicious Doberman Pinscher!
Or, how about twice in the same night, (during another episode), when the overconfident Paul tries to show off to Perry and Della how he can handle very hot chili in a Mexican restaurant, then ending up downing whole jugs of water! There are even occasional light-hearted moments between Perry and Lieutenant Tragg, along with some of the stranger characters who appear in some episodes.
These are just some of the funnier moments from the otherwise serious, occasionally suspenseful, and truly great television series that shone so brightly during the golden age of television.
I had only seen scratchy, noisy, reruns many years ago, (replete with irritating commercials), and during the afternoon no less, yet even then, still enjoyed what I saw. But now, you have great prints, and superb sound, without commercial interruption which you can enjoy anytime you like, especially at "night"!
By far, one of the best shows in the history of television, where each superb episode plays out like a great mini-movie!
WARNING!!!!....
There is one thing that you should keep in mind before you watch any of the episodes. The generally two-sentence plot summaries beneath the title of each episode (on the back of each DVD case) give away a great deal of the story, which can truly interupt the fun, once you know what's coming! If you want to keep track of where you left off, it's better just to read the title, and forget the description beneath it!"
