Movie Reviews

Awesome DVD!
M. Puziss | Frederick, MD United States | 02/15/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is an awesome DVD from one of the best bands ever. The only 80's band that could beat Poison was Motley Crue, and not by that much. This DVD features all of their videos. There is also behind the scenes footage in between each video. The first eight videos are from an old video called "Sight For Sore Ears".This features the videos "Cry Tough","I Want Action","Talk Dirty To Me","I Won't Forget You","Nothin' But A Good Time","Fallen Angel","Every Rose....",and "Your Mama Don't Dance".The second five videos come from an old video called "Flesh,Blood, and Video Tape".This features all of the videos off "Flesh and Blood",which are "Unskinny Bop","Ride The Wind","Something To Believe In","Life Goes On",and "Flesh and Blood(Sacrafice)".The last four videos are the ones made after "Flesh and Blood".These are "So Tell Me Why","Stand","Until You Suffer Some(Fire And Ice)",and "Power To The People".So if you like Poison, buy this, and be sure to check out Motley Crue's Greatest Video Hits also."
Classic "Hair Material" At Its Finest...

"I've been a fan of Poison since the beginning. Even though I was considered "an ankle biter" at the start, they have always continued to amaze me. Through the ups and downs, I have always followed the great music that they distributed. Unlike a lot of bands who only write about true love and sappy subjects, Poison have spanned the globe and wrote about so much more. This DVD pays tribute to what they have written about....since the beginning....in video format. This DVD is truly a real treat that any music buff can sit back and enjoy watching. It is essentially a combination of Poison's prior VHS releases, with a few added bonuses. The retro interview footage is a nice treat. But the videos themselves are the best part of the DVD, especially with the enhanced sound quality. Fans get to see "Cry Tough," "Unskinny Bop," "Ride the Wind," "Something To Believe In," "Fallen Angel," and of course "I Won't Forget You," in addition to all the rest. In terms of the '3 unreleased commercially' videos, they are special too. As weird as it may sound, "Stand" and "So Tell Me Why" two of the three, I have seen on the local music channel about a decade ago, when the first came out! Even the newest vid "Power To The People," one I haven't seen is a great song, and truly showcases that Poison has still got what it takes in an industry dominated by Pop-Music-Acts. I would say that any 80's fan would love this disc, and those with selected tastes of today borrow before buying. All in all, to all the Poisonites out there, purchase, play, and pound the speakers watching this gem of 80's nostalgia."
Well worth the price...if you are a fan

"Glam bands. For all the big hair, girly makeup, and flash - at least they were about good times, good friends, girls, sex, drugs, and rock n roll. This DVD has a few production problems. As mentioned the sync between audio and video slips a little at times. At others times the video is grainy and faded, then snaps back into DVD quality. However it includes the full videos from all past Poison music video compilations as far as I can tell. The extras alone are worth the price. I never saw the "So Tell Me Why," video, which also seems to have been made when the band broke up initially because Bret is pretty much the only new footage. The footage of the band together again after 2000 is pretty funny as well and worth a look.If you have a few favorite songs like "Talk Dirty to Me," "Every Rose," "Fallen Angel," "Nothin' but a Good Time," "Ride the Wind," or just want a digital copy of music from when you were younger with all the good associated memories...I highly recommend this DVD.The music these guys delivered and their live show was always top notch."
A LOTTA ROCK N GLAM FUN!!

"I don't even own any Poison CDs and never was a fan, but I really like this DVD!! It ROCKS in a rock and GLAM kinda way and it's fun to watch the group looking all *1980's* - I put this on when I don't want to think and I just want to have my mood lifted. It's fun and some day I may even buy one of their CDs!! They were a pretty good band! But the visuals make them even better!"
