This is a very informative documentary on the history of Native American images in film. A few clips of Native American performers shine: Will Sampson (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), Chief Dan George (The Outlaw Josey Wales) and Evan Adams in Smoke Signals, a movie I'm not particularly fond of, but his performance in that film is classic. Charlie Hill, both old stand-up material, and newer commentary were priceless (He passed away this last year). One drawback to an otherwise good watch was the grandstanding from the AIM old guard that could have been cut back. The glaring omission is an absence of Native women's voices here. There are no actresses or interviewees or clips of some incredible performances by the likes of Shiela Tousey, (Thunderheart, Grand Avenue) Tantoo Cardinal (Where the River Flows North), to name a couple.
