Movie Reviews

A documentary of Rigo Tovar's success! Rigomania ! The last
F. Rodriguez | 07/06/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

""Rigo Tovar : Una Confesion Total" is a great documentary on Rigo Tovar. A film crew followed Rigo at the peak of his carrer all around Mexico and some parts of the USA during concerts and interviewed part of his family.

If you're a young person it might shocked you to see all the efects of the "Rigomania" things that you might think only could have happened to the Beatles, happened to him: people crying and shouting at his concerts, women passing out, people waiting in lines for hours to see him just went by in his bus. All of that and more.

The documentary starts with him at several of his concerts, then they interviewed his father on why he choosed the name Rigoberto. And they shows a lot of scenes of Matamoros on those years, and mostly of his home address , the now famous street "Primera de Mayo" (May First).

You will see more than 20 songs of Rigo played live in several concerts in Mexico and USA. You will see Rigo at his best and all the chaos created by the Rigomania.

So rent it or buy, you won't be dissapointed."
