Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) is a delightful claymation feature-length film, which is certainly patterned after Wallace and Gromit, but these are all new characters, and it is funnier. Shaun the Sheep is in a BBC series for kids. The premise is that the young teen Shaun is tired of farm life and wants to take a day off. He enlists his sheep buddies and together figure out a way to escape Farmer. Farmer winds up in The Big City, and the farm animals realize that they actually miss him. So all the sheep and the dog, Bitzer, head to the city. Of course, the flock must disguise themselves as people, which is funny enough, but they do have some trouble in their efforts to deport themselves in the people-world. The scene in the upscale restaurant, le Chou Brûlé, and their efforts to mimic real people by watching others in the restaurant is hilarious. The heavy, a wannabe mercenary or secret agent, is the Animal Containment officer, ironically named A. Trumper (there was no comments in the extras having anything to do with the name, so maybe it was just a coincidence). Slip, the female (but she does lift her leg) city stray is the real star and hero of this one. Dont miss this one.
