Movie Reviews

Didn't think I could play guitar
Paul Means | Tempe, AZ | 08/05/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I bought a cheap guitar a few months back. I saw this DVD and bought it on a whim. The box caught my eye when I saw "Aqualung" listed on the cover. Since that's one of my favorite songs I thought I'd plunk down a few bucks and see if this DVD was worth a darn. I thought I'd probably have to get a little more experience before I could actually come close to playing these songs.

Much to my surprise I picked it up pretty quickly and I had fun doing it. After a couple of weeks practicing a few minutes a day I can play Aqualung pretty well (minus Martin Barre's solo from the Jethro Tull album). The other songs were easily learned and fun to play as well.

I can't tell you how valuable this might be to a musician who is already fully competent with his instrument. I'm just a novice. But I would imagine that anyone who has experience and is inclined to learn these songs by DVD instead of studying tablature and sheet music would pick them up even more quickly and find it a rewarding experience.

I'm buying more from this series."
