Good for Beginners and The Disenchanted

"Reader, have you been turned off by the Stock Market and other investment vehicles? If your answer is Yes than you need to watch Susan Orman's Video, The Laws of Money, The Lessons of Life. Susan carefully outlines five key principles of keeping more of your hard earned cash. She emphathizes with her audience stating how life is more complicated than it was in previous generations. She relates how the CEO's of Enron and Worldcom have put fear into our lives. Also she cautions against putting too much trust in all the financial gurus on television and radio. Most of her talk is based on common sense. She advises her audience not to purchase what they cannot afford. She implores her audience to pay off credit card bills in full as paying the minimum can only lead to a false sense of security. based on an audience member's question regarding an IRA Rollover, Susan advises that any amount of money that you own is important. She further stresses the importance of NOT borrowing against a 401K. Furthermore, her apporach to evaluating your own investment portfolio is very sensible. Based on a simple one to five scale, she advises how much you need to sell of your current investment. She encourages avoiding an all or nothing approach. This can be refreshing to a disenchanted investor who just might be waiting for the market to return to the highs of the late 1990's.There is some wonderful insight in this video and that will appeal to most audiences especially beginners and those who are down on their luck. The common sense alone will wake you up from your doledrums."
Suze Nails it

"Suze just kills it in this presentation. I read the book before and thought it was good. Suze brings emotion into the equation, and this is very important to investing. Her advice is very simple, but as she says, "some of the things that are very simplistic, hold all the value in the world." I really like when Suze discussed Law # 5. It was very motivating, and her speech at this point was just flawless. I felt her passion. I think the DVD is good for people who invest and even people who want to learn how to be a public speaker. Suze has executive presence like no other. If you read the book and watch the dvd, you will be able to "keep what you have, and create what you deserve.""
Where's the advice for the "Common Man"?

"I like Orman a lot on her TV show, but this book helped me very little, and that was disappointing. Plenty of advice for those who have stocks or other investments or homes they can use to get out of debt, but little practical advice for those of us who have no investments and no real estate. I make less than $40,000 per year, with no investments to fall back on, no home to re-finance...I rent and live paycheck to paycheck with what might be seen as a small amount of debt, but I'm still drowning. The only practical advice I got from this was: Spend Less. Well duh. I suppose I should have spent less by not buying this book."
Very user friendly ...

"I feel that by focusing her aim on 5 major "laws" of money, Suze Orman has created a reference that is timeless. It was wonderfully produced, and enjoyable to watch."
