Based on a Greg Iles novel (24 Hours). Low on realism and intelligence, but succeeds as a straight thriller. Dakota Fanning out-acts everyone older than her. If you enjoy Kevin Bacon as a bad guy (complete with overacting), give this one a shot.

Minor spoilers may follow:
.
.
.
A ridiculous ending in which the good guys brazenly jeopardize dozens of innocent lives for no reason, in a that-would-never-work-in-real-life scenario.
.
.
.
Plot that hinges on (older) cell phones and pagers and such. A bit amusing at times.
.
.
.
Message to idiot victims: When you have the drop on the REALLY bad guys, pull the trigger. Always. Yeah, that's the kind of film we have here... but it does have its good moments.
