This is the final film collaboration by the famous Merchant Ivory film team of James Ivory and the late Ismail Merchant.

The Merchant/Ivory team is in their top form with this film, set in 1930's Shanghai. Excellent casting with top-notch performances by an all-star cast.

On SWAPADVD, this version (with no picture showing) has the same cover art as the other pictured listing.

It is The White Countess ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN version.

A good love story. Set in the 1930's in Shanghai right before World War II started.
