Biography: A tall, gray-haired character actor best remembered for playing one of the crooks in the still extant Lon Chaney melodrama The Shock (1923), Harry de Vere had been on-stage since the young age of six. A somewhat late convert to motion pictures, De Vere had entered films with Selig in 1915 and later appeared for American, Fox, and various Paramount companies playing mostly villains. ~ Hans J. |
