Biography: European leading man George Dolenz came to Hollywood at the outbreak of World War II. The master of several dialects, Dolenz generally essayed urbane continental roles like Baron Sergei in Abbott and Costello's In Society (1944). He could also effectively play Latin American types (the mysterious Cortega in the 1953 Martin and Lewis vehicle Scared Stiff) and period-picture noblemen (Emperor Thodosius in 1954's Sign of the Pagan). |
