Biography: After a decade and a half of popping up in bit movie parts and TV guest spots, Houston-born Chandra Wilson saw her acting career finally take off in 2005 when she was cast as a lead on the ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy. The show immediately became a hit, and Wilson was honored with an Emmy nomination in 2006 and a Screen Actors Guild Award (for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series) in 2007. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide
