Biography: Born in Ireland and educated in Switzerland, Austin Trevor fought for the British during WWI, then made his stage debut in America. In films from the early talkie era onward, Trevor gained a fan following with his appearances as Agatha Christie's dapper Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot in Alibi (1930) and Lord Edgeware Dies (1931).
