Biography: British playwright Leon Gordon is best known for a steamy bit of exotica called White Cargo, which was filmed twice, most memorably in 1940 with Hedy Lamarr as the estimable Tondelayo. Gordon was also a prolific novelist; his semi-comic novel I Love You Again was made into a delightful William Powell-Myrna Loy vehicle in 1941. As a screenwriter, Gordon was gainfully employed for over two decades by MGM, contributing to the scripts of such productions as Freaks (1932) and Tarzan and His Mate (1934).
