DVD Synopsis

In this action thriller, a master car thief has his skills pushed to the limit. Randall "Memphis" Raines (Nicolas Cage) can steal practically any car that crosses his path. While he has done well in his life of crime, he knows that there's a short future in theft, and he wants to get out of the business. But his retirement plans are interrupted when his younger brother Kip (Giovanni Ribisi) gets in trouble with a dangerous crime boss. To get his brother out of harm's way, Randall agrees to a profitable but risky scheme to steal 50 luxury cars in one night, with the help of several other car thieves, including Sara "Sway" Wayland (Angelina Jolie). A rival group of thieves is trying to pull the same stunt at the same time, and detectives Castlebeck (Delroy Lindo) and Drycoff (Timothy Olyphant) are trying to shut down both operations. Also starring Robert Duvall as Otto Halliwell, and Scott Caan as Tumbler, Gone in Sixty Seconds is a remake of the 1974 low-budget action hit of the same name, best remembered for a 40-minute chase scene in which 90 cars were destroyed. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Dominic Sena's high-octane action blockbuster Gone in 60 Seconds comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1. Spanish subtitles are accessible, and the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. Supplemental materials include a making-of featurette that was created specifically for this DVD release, an interview with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, a music video from The Cult, and a theatrical trailer. Another bonus feature involves a music video-like montage of scenes from the film that is as loud, frenetic, and pointless as the film itself. excellent movie, while it is a remake, it gets props for having a good story, excellent direction and fantastic acting.

While all of the main actors had great parts, this film is really made by the "Ladies" Grace Zabriski as the mother is fantastic she really allows you to feel how she is torn in her emotions, but how there truly is no choice that she is given. Frances Fisher is great as Junie, her background provides a punch to Robert Duvall's fatherly presence, (watch her in the scenes that she is just leaving camera, she is spot on.)

Chi McBride really makes this show (as Donnie) I laughed every time he shoed up on screen, and Vinnie Jones (the Sphinx) is just perfect, I have met a few morticians, and that is pretty much what I would expect ...

Props to the cast, they did an amazing job, the chase scenes were a bit overboard but not so much so that it loses what is going on, while it could have done without a few minutes of Hollywood fluff, it didn't ruin the movie for me.

This movie is not one you buy for the plot or the actors....Its all about the cars and the car chases, and the cars are more than worth the credit to see.

Don't get this. It's bad. Everything's over the top computer generated graphics. Everyone's trying to be hip and cool and unreal. Angeline with her dread lock hair. Bad. Very bad. If you want to see Gone In 60 Seconds order the original version from the 70s.
