The Net is really more than a sci-fi movie; it's downright scary to think this might happen to anyone who lives and works in a computerized world.
Sandra Bullock has been, in effect, deleted from the world, and this film follows her in her fight to get her identity back and to discredit the computer conspiracy that deleted her in the first place. Co-starring
Jeremy Northam and
Dennis Miller, this thriller is more fast-paced and full of chase scenes than it is devoted to the actual technology that makes up the basis of the plot. The two-sided DVD is offered in both widescreen (1.85:1 aspect ratio) and regular version, with Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. Subtitles are available in English, Spanish, and Korean. There are also French and Spanish soundtracks.
There aren't a lot of special features added to this DVD; in fact, there isn't even a theatrical trailer, which is a disappointment. With the technology portrayed in this film, there were plenty of opportunities for extra features and behind-the-scenes footage. ~ Sherril Steele-Carlin, All Movie Guide
