Im a big Western fan. This one was just ok. There is an older version of the same movie starring Glenn Ford as the bad guy that Russell Crowe plays in this one. The older one wasn't great but it was pretty good and a lot better than this one in my opinion.

This is THE best western film I've ever seen. Bale and Crowe are great together. The music is fantastic. The story is great and well acted. Crowe is a great villian. Bale really shines in this movie as the character of Dan Evans. You really "feel" his pain during the whole movie. His struggle to impress his wife and win the respect of his oldest son. He plays the role so well, its in his eyes and the way he carries himself. Bale is the best actor in Hollywood.
